Selection: The Scholarship Committee of the Foundation’s Board of Directors will review all applications and make a recommendation to the Foundation's Board for final approval in early June.

Selection can be based on criteria outlined in each scholarship, and may include but not be limited to academic achievement, community involvement, financial need, and choice of major.

The Wayne County Community Foundation’s Scholarship Committee reviews all applications for the scholarships the Foundation services and make selections aligned with the scholarship sponsor’s directions. In the case of scholarships held by independent parties, said party's scholarship review board is responsible for applicant selection.

Individuals selected for a scholarship will be notified in writing in early-to-mid June. Recipients must respond to the notification with information about the school or institution to which they have committed so that a scholarship check can be issued. Scholarship checks may only be used for tuition and will be made out to both the recipient and school/institution.
