Wayne County— Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Providing $22,850 in Capacity Building Funding to the Wayne County Community Foundation
In early 2025, the Wayne County Community Foundation began participating in the Appalachian Regional Commission’s ARC Ready program specific to community foundations. This capacity building initiative included group learning sessions with community foundations from across the country over multiple months. Upon successful completion of the program, participating foundations were able to apply for organizational capacity building funding.
In late 2025, ARC announced that the Wayne County Community Foundation received $22,850 in grant funding. This funding will be used to support the Wayne County Community Foundation’s technology needs related to donor management, fund accounting, and grant/scholarship processing.
“We greatly appreciate this learning opportunity and grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission", says Ryanne Jennings, President/CEO of the Wayne County Community Foundation, “operational grants like this that help our organization build our capacity in order to better support our donors, nonprofits, and community.”
The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) is an economic development partnership entity of the federal government and 13 state governments focusing on 423 counties across the Appalachian Region. ARC’s mission is to innovate, partner and invest to build community capacity and strengthen economic growth in Appalachia to help the region achieve socioeconomic parity with the nation.
