Once again, the Wayne County Community Foundation in cooperation with the PA Department of Economic and Community Development will award grants to area school districts.
On November 1, 2018 Donna Decker received the Wayne County Community Foundation’s 2018 Ben Franklin Community Service Award.
For the past sixteen years, the Wayne County Community Foundation has given a dictionary to 3rd Graders in the County. Last year, we began providing dictionaries to the 3rd Graders in the Forest City Regional Elementary School. To date, we’ve given out 4,750 dictionaries and with this year’s program we will go over the “5000 mark.”
The Wayne County Community Foundation salutes the "BK Invitational Golf Classic" celebrating its 19th year. Held on September 30, and October 1 at Woodloch the tournament founded by Bob Kiesendahl raises money to support cancer research at the Fred Hutchinson Institute and Penn State. To date Bob, and his team have raised $1.2 million dollars.
The Wayne County Community Foundation Board of Directions has selected Donna Decker with its highest recognition, the 2018, “Ben Franklin Award for Community Service.”
Donna Decker.jpgThe award commemorating one of Nation’s “Foundation Fathers… Benjamin Franklin” is accompanied by a grant of $1000 from the Foundation’s Ben Franklin Fund. This gift will be given to a charity of Mrs. Decker’s choosing.
The selection recognizes Donna’s years of service to her community and her profession.
The Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health organization recently received a grant the Wayne County Community Foundation to support the acquisition of materials for their Children’s Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services program and Rapid Response Teams.
The Wayne County Community Foundation recently presented a grant to Catholic Social Services in support of their work with chronically homeless individuals and families in Wayne County. In a caring, professional and trusting environment they help individuals of all faiths and backgrounds get temporary, transitional housing. These families are provided with access to all community supportive services necessary to transition them to permanent homes. Pictured L. to R.
